Beginning on June 12th, we will be running hill training in Bashaw at 2:00pm, every Sunday until mid August.
Sessions will be approximately 60 mins long- emphasizing lower body power, speed & quickness, and core work.
Training on a hill is very transferable to hockey skating, with a lot of biomechanical parallels (body & joint angles are very similar) as well as the rapid stride turnover, just like on the ice. Extension and the heavy demand for a fast knee drive will directly apply to your on-ice stride improvement.
Work outs will include forwards and backwards sprints, overspeed, acceleration, explosive lower body exercises, and much more all geared towards anaerobic conditioning enhancement.
